Down near Bambough a long time ago
Lived a maid that we all know
She looked out the window and what did she see?
A lot of wet people all cold in the sea
She turned to her father and what did she say?
Father get the boat- get it now today!
Row row row Grace row row row
Row row row Grace you can row
They got in the boat and away they set
Grace and her father got soaking wet
They rowed across the sea as quick as they could
As the sea was getting up and it didn't look good
They got to the Wreck and what did they see?
A lot of cold people all wet as could be!
Row row row Grace row row row
Row row row Grace you can row
Grace and her father got them in the boat
But it was overloaded and it wouldn't float
So they only took a few and said ''we'll be back''
And set out for the light house away from the wreck
Then the boat went back and saved many more
And Grace became a hero for ever more!
Row row row Grace row row row
Row row row Grace you can row

Hello my name is Grace

Hello, my name is Grace
I live off the shore
I live in a light house
With my family ever more
I and my fathers job
We watch the light, we keep it on
We wait, defying fate
Determined to stay strong
Daughter of the lighthouse keeper
My father watches the light
To keep the ships from harm,
On the rocks every day and every night
Hello my name is Grace
I live off the shore
I live in a light house
With my family ever more...

There's a ship
01:37
|

There's a ship
And it's far too close
There's a ship
and it's getting close
There's a ship
and it's going to ground
On the Harker rock
Oh what can we do?
Oh what can we do?
I don't know - What can we do?
There's just me and you could row
I don't know if you should go?~
I know that I am a lass
Oh where's my brother tonight?
He's not here I don't think that we should go.
Don't think that we should,~
Don't think that we should....

The light goes round every day and night
We see the people day and night
We keep the people from the rocks
We live here – ''under the light''---------Both lead and chorus sing
We live here – ''under the light''---------Both lead and chorus sing
Simultaneously - My father and I and our family too ----------Grace
Simultaneously - ''under the light'' -----------Chorus
Simultaneously - Live and sleep with the work we do
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - We keep the ships from the rocks
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - We keep them out in the sea
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - My father and me.
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - We tend the light-
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - We tend the light~
Simultaneously - ''under the light''
Simultaneously - All day and all night
Simultaneously - All day and all night
Simultaneously - All day and all night
Simultaneously - ''under the light''

22 years of age

|

I'm Twenty two years of age ---------------Chorus
I'm Twenty two years of age
Don't know what happens to me ----------Grace
Don't know who I will be
When I'm older
Twenty two years of age
Just Twenty two years of age
Who will my husband be?
Will he be kind to me?
When I'm older?
Twenty two years of age
Just Twenty two years of age
Will I live by the sea?
Who will my children be?
When I'm older?
Twenty two years of age
Just Twenty two years of age
Will grand children come to me?
Oh will I still be me?
When I'm older?

21 feet of oak

21 feet of Oak between me and the sea
I looked out the window, and what did I see?
There were people over there
There were people in despair
They were shouting
And they were shouting for me~
21 feet of Oak between me and the sea
21 feet of Oak between me and the deep north sea
Father, Father come and see,
Father people are shouting for me
Father Father, lets get there now
Lets get across there now~
I don't care that the waves are getting high
I don't care that we'll surely die
I don't care what you say, lets get there now~
Lets get there now~
21 feet of Oak between me and the sea
21 feet of Oak between me and the deep north sea
Father and I, we sailed away
Father and I, on a stormy day
Father and I in the boat on the sea
Just father and me~
Waves got high, they reached the sky
We rowed as we could as fast as we can
I was scared and father too
The people were shouting, what could we do?
21 feet of Oak between me and the sea
21 feet of Oak between me and the deep north sea
We ran aground they pulled us up,
Five we'll take no more this trip
Five at once and we'll slip away
But we'll return right a way ~
21 feet of Oak between me and the sea
21 feet of Oak between me and the deep north sea
21 feet of Oak between me and the sea

Papers say I was a hero
01:28
|
|||
The papers say I was a hero
I'd risked my life for them
They said I should be famous
And I should meet the Queen
Oh no! – Not the Queen!
I'm a plain girl common ways...
I couldn't go to London – meet the Queen
Couldn't meet the Queen
Oh they wouldn't let me be,
They wouldn't let me be
I wanted peace,
I wanted peace and quiet
I couldn't take the strain,
All the people round me asking questions
''Who was I?'' '' What did I do?''
I didn't know I was in the news..
What did I say?
I can't tell any more....
I can't tell any more....

Small wooden boat
02:23
|
|||
A small wooden boat
Floating quite alone
A small sailing vessel
Being tossed, yet free to roam
The moon shines down on you
Reflecting off your sides
Tomorrow seems elusive
You just wait for the tides
And then will come the daylight
And riding on the toss
And you know that your freedom
Is someone else’s loss
